My Weight Loss Journey

Since June, I’ve been on a transformative journey, losing 40 pounds and feeling stronger than ever. It hasn’t always been easy, but it’s been worth every challenge. My approach started with the ketogenic (keto) diet and cardio workouts, but after hitting a plateau, I incorporated intermittent fasting, which helped me break through and continue seeing progress.

In the beginning, I committed to the keto diet, focusing on cutting carbs and increasing healthy fats. This shift in my eating habits had an immediate effect—I felt more energized and less hungry, and the weight started to drop quickly. Keto became a lifestyle that worked for me, and it provided the structure I needed to stay on track.

Along with the diet, I incorporated cardio into my routine. My workouts primarily included running, walking, and using the elliptical. These exercises helped keep my body moving and contributed to the steady progress I was making. By combining keto with consistent cardio sessions, I saw great results in the first few weeks.

But like many on a weight loss journey, I eventually hit a frustrating plateau. The weight stopped dropping despite my commitment to my workouts and diet. It was disheartening, but I knew I had to switch things up to continue my progress.

That’s when I decided to try intermittent fasting. I started with a simple 16:8 plan, fasting for 16 hours and eating during an 8-hour window. It was an adjustment, especially skipping breakfast, but over time, my body adapted. Fasting gave me the push I needed to break through the plateau, and the weight began to come off again.

There were definitely tough days—days when I wanted to give up, when cravings were strong, or when I felt frustrated with slow progress. But each small victory, whether it was fitting into smaller clothes or feeling more energetic, kept me going.

Breaking through the plateau with intermittent fasting was one of the biggest wins for me. It showed me that sometimes, making even small changes can lead to big results. Staying persistent and flexible in my approach was key.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned on this journey is that weight loss isn’t always a straight path. Plateaus happen, but they’re not the end. The ability to adapt—whether by tweaking my diet, adding fasting, or changing up my workouts—helped me keep pushing forward.

The combination of keto, running, walking, and using the elliptical, alongside intermittent fasting, has worked well for me. I’ve not only lost weight but also gained a sense of control over my health.

While I’ve made great progress, this journey is far from over. I’m excited to keep working toward my goals and to continue feeling stronger and healthier. Losing 40 pounds has been empowering, and I’m proud of the hard work and dedication that got me here.

If you’re on your own weight loss journey, remember to stay patient and be open to change. It’s okay to hit roadblocks—what matters is how you adapt and keep moving forward. Every small step adds up, and your hard work will pay off.
